Foresite Group provided full site design and construction phase services for this 305-bedroom apartment complex in Auburn, Alabama. This project included two buildings, 338 parking spaces, and an underground detention system. Since the site is part of the Saugahatchee Watershed, the detention system included a filtration system to provide the required 40% phosphorous removal. This underground chamber system also decreased the existing flooding problem for the city street fronting the property. Another challenge facing this site was its location directly north of a railroad, which left limited space for grading along the south property line. This factor, in addition to the set elevations of the buildings, necessitated +/- 1,000 LF of retaining walls being added throughout the site.
